The Royal Norwegian Society for Development (Norges Vel) is an independent non-profit society working to support an empower local communities around the globe. Norges Vel's project "Poverty Reduction through Business Development and Formal Cooperation" supports smallholder farmers in Madagascar, Mozambique, and Tanzania, with funding from Norad. The objective is to increase smallholder farmers' income by boosting the production and sales of rice, tilapia, cashew, and groundnuts, as well as advocating for a supportive political framework.

In 2023, Norges Vel selected Future Horizons to carry out a near-end review of its poverty reduction project. The aim was to evaluate progress made in and lessons learned from the implementation of the project. A review team led by Elisabeth carried out the assessment, focusing on sustainability, climate resilience and adaptation, gender equality, improved work methods and models, as well as priorities and changes for future work. In its report, the team provided recommendations to enhance Norges Vel's work and achieve better outcomes in the future.
